World Day of Press Freedom
We went through Earth Day and Mother's Day, it's not that they are unimportant, but I'm surprised they have more impact than the World Day of Press Freedom. In a world where only 16% of the world's population can enjoy a free media, I think, is not defended as befits one of the faces most important and fundamental freedom.
And unless exceptions concern, freedom of speech and press often go hand in wealth and affluence. No wonder then, that is in poor countries where more highlight this lack of freedom of communication media.
One point that concerns me personally is Latin America, where the free expression of the media is increasingly exposed to attacks by oppressive interests. As Cuba and Venezuela the saddest examples of the same.
Without freedom of opinion, expression and press freedom can hardly be safeguarded individual and be released, abuses against that of those who hate freedom.
