Some 4,000 firefighters from around Australia continued yesterday for the fourth straight day, the fight against several fires still active in Victoria. The most troubling face, being out of control, is located in Yarra Valley, about 150 kilometers southeast of Melbourne, the state capital.
The fire department spokesman, Tony Bearzatto, explained that the total number of fatalities will rise as access to places devastated and remove the ashes and debris from residential areas and cars burned.
